The Gambia-Stuttgart Association, a charity organization based in German, Thursday donated eleven brand new computers worth over D200,000 to the Samasang Technical Senior Secondary School in Brikama in the West Coast Region.

The donation was facilitated by a former employee at Samasang Federation, John Bless Gomez, based in Germany.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Federation Manager of Samasang, Edrisa Cham, commended the donors and facilitator for the gesture, adding that information technology has become an integral part of development.

The gesture would promote the status of students in the learning of IT, Cham added, and called on the beneficiaries to wisely manage the donated computers in order for them to serve their purpose.

The federation accountant, Fabakary Fadera, thanked Dr Hoyal, the main donor of the computers, for his foresight, noting that he would always be remembered by the Samasang Federation and the school.

The representative of the donors, Mr. Yusupha, said the purpose of the donation is to help the school’s IT department to facilitate the learning of IT.

He tasked the students to concentrate on their IT and other lessons in order to achieve their aims.

The representative of the cluster president, Mariama Jatta, commended the donors for the gesture.

The new school has a lot of ambitious students, and there is no doubt that the future of the school is bright, Jatta said.

The school principal, Buba Sowe, lauded the donors for the support, adding that they are patriotic citizens in the Diaspora working to promote development in their country.

The school’s head-girl, Haddy Lowe, said the donation of the computers is a dream come true, as they have been yearning for such support.
