Dr. Seedy Drammeh of the Gambia Revenue Authority has written a book entitled: Guide to Productive Office Work. The 164 page book, which took the author over two years to write is set for publication.
Dr. Seedy Drammeh who obtains a doctorate degree from the University of Belford USA, a master's degree and a postgraduate diploma in Banking and Financial Service from the University of Leicester in the UK walked into our office on Sunday seeking assistance to publish his book.
Speaking to our reporter, Dr. Drammeh said the book, which was reviewed by Dr. Momodou Tangara, in his capactity as Minister of Higher Education at the time with directives from relevant authorities, was edited by Mr. Foday Baldeh of Fulladu Publishers.
The book, he said, is designed for employers, employees, job-seekers and students with relevant ambitions to contribute towards meaningful national and international development.
According to him, the book contains adequate information to satisfy the most curious applicants and students, in particular who are eager to know what office work is all about.
His main source of information includes interview with different people, internet-research and other books.
The Guide to Productive Office Work, according to the author, outlines important things, such as job interview, decision-making, chain of command, recruitment selection and short-listing. "The book is worth reading," said Dr. Drammeh.
Despite resource constraints, the author personally sponsored the printing of 200 copies and is looking for assistance from the general public to enable him print more copies and to launch the book.
"A copy costs only D200.00," he added. He appealed to the public to assist him publish the book.
