A man was recently remanded in custody by the Brikama Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate Babucarr Secka.
Francis Mendy pleaded guilty of the charge of assault, causing actual bodily harm and was subsequently remanded in custody.
According to the particulars of offence, on 1 April 2011, at Brikama, in the West Coast Region, the accused, Francis Mendy, stabbed one Foday Susso on his chest with a broken bottle.
Meanwhile, the prosecuting officer, CPL 358 Sarr, applied for an adjournment on the grounds that the victim, Foday Susso, was still in a very critical condition and he was still undergoing treatment.
He said the prosecution would like to get the medical report to ascertain the injury and to prepare the facts of the case, which was adjourned till 14 April 2011.
