Principal Magistrate J.A. Effirm of the Brikama Magistrates' Court recently convicted and sentenced one Modou Baldeh to three years in prison with hard labour for defiling an under-aged girl.
According to the fact as narrated by the Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Colley, it happened sometime in the month of January 2010, at Sanyang Village. He said the convict has been renting in the victim's mother compound, where he fell in love with the victim.
Sgt. Colley further narrated that the convict always invites the victim into his house, when he had sex with her on a particular day, and as a result the victim became pregnant. He narrated that the victim's brother suspected the convict and reported the matter to the Brikama Police Station. Subsequently, he said the convict was arrested and taken to the police station, where he confessed of committing the act.
