Magistrate Bojang of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court recently convicted and sentenced one Matar Sabally to a fine of D3,000, in default to serve six months in prison.
Matar Sabally, who was convicted of stealing from a motor vehicle, was also ordered to pay D1,500 to the complainant.
The charge sheet read that on 28 October 2015, at the Bakoteh Fish Market in the Kanifing Municipality, Matar stole from a motor vehicle registration number BJL 0216 L a mobile phone marked Nokia valued at D1,500, the property of one Gibriel Bojang.
