One Adama Bojand was recently convicted and sentenced by Principal Magistrate Omar Cham of the Brikama Magistrates’ court to a fine of D2, 000 months imprisonment.
In delivering judgment, the presiding magistrate told the court that convicted person, Adama Bojang, was arraigned on 21st March 2014 and charged with assault casing actual bodily harm,
The charge sheet was read to him and he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The matter went to trail, and the prosecution called two witnesses.
The convicted person was testified as a lone witness,
After testimony of two prosecution witnesses the convicted person did not cross-examine any of the witnesses, nor objected to their evidence.
Therefore, he was convinced that the accused was guilty as charged, the magistrate told the court.
The convict pleased for mercy, as he is a first-time offender and the breadwinner of his family.
