Man arraigned for stealing

One Cherno Jawneh was recently arraigned before Magistrate Lamin George of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court charged with stealing.

The accused, Cherno Jawneh, pleaded not guilty to the charge, and was subsequently granted bail in the sum of D40,000 with a Gambian surety.

According to the charge sheet, Jawneh on 9th October 2010, at Latrikunda in the Kanifing Municipality, stole from one Kaddijatou Jallow a bag containing physical cash of D30,000 and a mobile phone mark Nokia valued at D850, all being the property of Kaddijatou Jallow.

The case was adjourned to 3rd November 2010 for continuation.

Meanwhile, in a similar development, one Modou Bah was also arraigned recently before Magistrate George of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court charged with stealing.

According to the particulars of offence, on 16th October 2010, between the hours of 0230 and 0300 am at Pipeline in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Modou Bah, stole two shirts and one trouser valued unknown, the property of Ida Jammeh and Fatou Badjie.

The accused, Modou Bah, pleaded not guilty, and was subsequently granted bail in the sum of D10,000 with a Gambian surety.

The case was adjourned to 4th November 2010 for continuation.
