Man arraigned for rash, negligent

One Ousman Badjie of Batokunku Village was recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate J.A. Effim, charged with rash and negligent act, causing death.

According to the particulars of offence on 11th June 2010, at Batokunku Village, Kombo South, in the Western Region, the accused Ousman Badjie drove a motor vehicle with a registration number BJL 7997F, a truck and knocked down one Abdoulie Sanneh, causing his death.

Meanwhile, the police prosecutor, Sgt Colley applied for an adjournment to enable him send the case file to the Attorney-General's Chambers for legal advice.

The prosecution application was granted and subsequently the case was adjourned to 29th July.

The accused was granted court bail in the sum of D25, 000 with a Gambian surety.
