Man arraigned for assault

A man was recently arraigned before Magistrate Abeke of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court, charged with assault, causing actual bodily harm.

Ensa kujabi pleaded not guilty of the charge and was subsequently granted bail of D20,000 with two Gambian sureties.

According to the charge sheet, on 5 March 2011, at Kiti Village, West Coast Region, the accused, Ensa Kujabi, assaulted one Momodou Salieu Saidy, by hitting him with a stick on his head and left hand, thereby causing him actual bodily harm.

The case was then adjourned till 16 March 2011.
