One Goro Faal was Wednesday arraigned before magistrate Tabally of the Kanifing magistrates’ court for allegedly issuing false cheques.
The particulars of offence read that some time in September 2012 in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused person, Goro Faal, issued three Bank PHB cheques dated 17, 19 and 20 September 2012 with serial numbers 534484, 534490 and 534491 and with face value of D35,000, D81,000 and D75,000 respectively to one Alhagie Jallow of Lamin village, which were returned unpaid upon presentation at the said bank, because there was insufficient funds in his account.
Prosecutor 3560 Colley opposed bail for the accused person on the grounds that he was having another matter, was given bail and he jumped the bail.
Magistrate Tabally also told the court that the accused had jumped bail in another case and was arrested, adding that he would, therefore, refuse him bail.
Hearing was adjourned to 2 July 2014.
