A man was recently arraigned before Magistrate Abeke of the Brikama Magistrates' Court, charged with obtaining money by false pretence
Mustaph Manneh, a resident of Banjulinding, pleaded not guilty of the charge and was granted court bail of D500,000 with two Gambian sureties.
According to the particulars of offence, on 23 September 2010, at Banjulinding Village, in Kombo North district, West Coast Region, the accused, Mustapha Manneh, with intent to defraud, obtained D260,000 from one Abdoulie Manneh, by selling him a land which he knew “does not belong” to him.
The case was adjourned until 18 May 2011.
