The criminal trial for malicious damage to property involving one Peter Mendy continued recently at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before magistrate Emmanuel Amadi.

Testifying before the court, Karamba Sanneh told the court that he is a Quranic teacher at Busura, and that he knew the accused person.

According to Sanneh, on 23rd November 2009 he was at school during break time, when he was informed that the groundnut heap of the complainant was burnt. He said he asked the complainant who was his suspect and he told him that he had a problem with the accused prior to his groundnut heap being burnt.

He added that he inquired from the complainant what the problem was, and the complainant told him that the accused usually goes to his garden to tap palm wine, and that he asked him to stop tapping wine from there.

 Hearing continues.
