Pirang beat Duwasu 1-0 in the group A fixtures of the ongoing Late Hon. Kebba Touray inter-village football tournament at the Mandinaba playground at the weekend.
Pirang opened the scoring through striker Lamin Touray in the 25th minute of the game when he netted a brilliant goal to give his side the much needed points at the expense of Duwasu.
Duwasu fought very hard trying to snatch an equaliser but their struggle was not rewarded with any meaningful result as the formidable Pirang defence line denied them any dividend from the numerous scoring opportunities they created, thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Pirang.
The tournament, sponsored by Touray Kunda Family, is aimed at remembering the Late National Assembly Member for Kombo East, Kebba Touray.
Kombo East District Sports Committee is the organiser of the prestigious football championship.
