Late Dembo FC on Saturday 31 August 2013 defeated knock-out champions and Super Cup runners up Nyokoyorr FC 1-0 in a tightly contested game played at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field.

Late Dembo FC came into the game with a single point, after their goalless draw against the 2010 league champions Commit FC, in their opening group A game.

While Nyokoyorr FC came into the game with 3 points, following their 3-0 convincing victory over Kayongkalorn FC in their opening group A game.

Both sides launched a series of assaults in each other’s goal mouth, but it was Late Dembo FC who were able to capitalize on their limited goal scoring opportunities, and opened the scores through combative midfielder Mbarika Touray, in the 66th minute of the game, from a spectacular header from the corner spot to give his side the lead, which eventually proved to be the winner for the Santos-based outfit.

The reining League and Super Cup champions, World Eleven FC, maintained their hundred percent record in the Nawettan, after a hard fought 1-0 win over Kulukochi United on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Commit FC mauled struggling Kayongkalorn FC side 3-1 in their re-scheduled game on Monday, and striker Saikou Ceesay achieved a brace for Commit FC.

Kulukochi United FC and Kayongkalorn FC are automatically out of the Nawettan, as they are languishing at the bottom of group A and group B with zero points each in two outings.
