Lands commission begins sitting today

Nov 30, 2010, 11:21 AM

The commission of inquiry into land allocation in the country will today start public sittings at the High Court in Banjul.

Established to investigate issues of land allocation in the country, the commission is chaired by Justice Basirou Vassili Portier Mahoney.

It would be recalled that President Yahya Jammeh on August 19, 2010, acting in accordance under Section 200 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, constituted a nine-man member commission of enquiry, mandated to enquire into matters relating to land allocations in the country.
