Lamin Utd eager to end miserable start to GFF 2nd tier campaign

Lamin United are targeting to end their miserable start campaign to the 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation second division when they host relegated side Bakau United in the week-eight fixtures today at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

The Lamin-based outfit, who have been struggling since the start of the second tier in December, managed to grab a draw and conceded six defeats in seven league matches.

They need to win their remaining fixtures in the first round in order to move away from the relegation zone and stay in the second tier for another season and also avoid relegation to the third tier.

The Bakau-based outfit are mid-table in the second tier, and will be vying to thump Lamin United to fancy their chances of regaining promotion to the top flight next season after their shock relegation to the second tier last season following their dismal performance in the top flight last season.

BK Milan will welcome Blue Star at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

 The Bakau-based outfit are among the teams rivaling for promotion to the top flight next season. They will be striving to beat Blue Star and bounce back in contention for promotion to the premier tier next season after losing to league leaders Brufut United 3-0 in their previous fixtures.

The Wellingara-based outfit are also among the teams fighting for promotion to the top flight next season and will be struggling to defeat BK Milan in order to improve their promotion to the premier tier hopes alive.

Red Hawks will play against Young Africans in the all-Banjul derby fixtures at the Banjul Mini Stadium.

Red Hawks are currently struggling in the second tier, and will be navigating to beat Young Africans to move away from the danger zone and to grab good position in the league.

Young Africans are mid-table in the second division. They will be enthusiastic to spank Red Hawks in order to close the gap on league leaders Brufut United.

Elsewhere, PSV Wellingara will rub shoulders with Interior in the other week-eight fixtures at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on the same day.

The Wellingara-based outfit are mid-table in the second division, and will be hoping to bounce back after losing to Tallinding United 2-0 in their previous league fixtures.

The Police outfit are among the teams contending for promotion to the premier tier next season. They will be eager to defeat PSV Wellingara in order to mount pressure on league leaders Brufut United.
