After their bitterly fought goalless draw against Serrekunda East in the opening fixtures of yet another GFA Second Division fixtures at the Brikama Box Bar Mini-stadium last Friday, Lamin United will face an uphill task of collecting a win against a side that has got-off to a fine start to the season.
Serrekunda United who has failed to continue its impressive start to last year’s league competition beat Nema United 1-nil to snatch their first victory. They are the favourite when they face Lamin United as the two sides are looking set to rub shoulders at Serrekunda East Mini-stadium later today.
There will be another league game to be played at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium between the newly promoted Banjul United and the most fancy Young Africans side that won the FA cup title at the Expense of Division One league giants Gamtel last season.
The two sides will travel to Serrekunda West Mini-stadium to fight for their first win in the championship after failing to impress in their opener with goalless draws at Manjai and Serrekunda West Mini-stadiums, respectively.
Nema United who loss in its first game after they were beaten 1-nil against Serrekunda United in the Week One fixtures last weekend will meet another Second Division new comers Latrikunda United at the Box Bar Mini-stadium on Friday.
Both teams are yet to win so far in the 10 club championship.
Saturday's matches will include Serrekunda East and Africell who recorded their first win after entertaining Tallinding United to a deserved 1-nil victory, courtesy of a sensational strike by defender Babucarr Jawara (Montero).
Africel is another fancy team to win the title, due to their wealth of experience in Gambian football.
The last game in the Week Two fixtures will see Tallinding United and Flamemins, both fighting for their first win after failing to impress in their opener.
