Lamin George is High Court Master

Judicial sources have informed The Point of the appointment of Magistrate Lamin George, a former Principal Magistrate at Bundung Magistrates' Court, as the new Master of the High Court in Banjul.

He replaced Fatoumatta Lili Drammeh, also a former acting-Principal Magistrate at Kanifing Magistrates' Court, who is now back to her previous position as a magistrate.

Our sources said the development took place recently.

Fatou Lili Drammeh was appointed Master of High Court some months back, filling a position that was vacant since the dismissal of the former Master of the High Court and ex-high court judge Amina Saho-Ceesay.

Lamin George until his appointment as the Master of the High Court was a principal magistrate at Kanifing Magistrates' Court.

Judicial sources also confirmed that Justice Na Ceesay Sallah Wadda was also appointed as a Court of Appeal judge, while Magistrate Emmanuel Nkea of the Banjul Magistrates' Court was elevated to the position of a high court judge.

Our sources revealed that this development took place effective 6th January 2011.
