Lamin FC on Wednesday defeated struggling Jambanjelly 2-0 in all Western Region derby in week sixteen game of the ongoing GFA second division league at the Brikama Mini Stadium.
The game was totally dominated by Jambanjelly and created a lot scoring opportunities but fail to scored, Lamin FC who defended well and relied on counter attacks opened the scores sheet through striker Zack Obega in the 25th minute of the game, Jambanjelly fought back but could not levelled the scores and the first ended 1-0 in favour of Lamin FC.
In the resumption of the second half, Jambanjelly who are struggling at the bottom of table with 8 points from sixteen games put pressure on Lamin FC defence but squandered all their chances.
Zack Obega sealed the victory for Lamin FC in the dying minutes after dribbling past Jambanjelly defence and registered his second goal of the game.
Lamin FC are 6th position on the table with 19 points from fifteen games with a game in hand.
On the same day GPA share top spot with Interior after their 0-0 draw with Young Africans at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium. GPA bagged 29 points from sixteen games while Interior secured 29 points from fourteen games. Young Africans are now 7th position with 16 points from fourteen games with two games in hand. Serrekunda United lost to Serrekunda East 1-0 at the Father Gough Sport Complex, Kaira Silo drew 1-1 with Ham Ham at the Independence Stadium.
Ham Ham are still 5th position on the table with 22 points from sixteen games, Kaira Silo are still second from bottom with 12 points from sixteen games.
Mean while Kaira silo's poor run of form in the second division continues with another disappointing 1-nil lost to Ham Ham at the Independence Stadium on Wednesday with a late goal from Abdou Jammeh.
