Jatta, the alkalo of Kunkujang Jattaya, Lamin Beyai and Bakary Jammeh were
Monday arraigned before Magistrate P. Sarra of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court,
charged with willful damage to property and setting fire to crops.
According to the charge sheet in count one, in the month of November 2014 at Kunkujang Jattaya in the Kombo North district of the West Coast Region, they jointly cut down 17 cashew trees valued at D25,500 being the property of one Ousman Ceesay.
The particulars of offence in count two read that in the same month, place and region, they jointly set fire to 17 cashew trees valued at D25,500 being the property of the said Ousman Ceesay.
Hearing continues on 16 February 2015.
