Kombo Sillah Association (KSA), formed by natives of Gunjur residing in the United Kingdom, on Saturday celebrated their 10 -year anniversary at the Malcom X Community Hall in Bristol.
Speaking on the occasion, the guest speaker, Seedy Ali Janneh, an Imam of Cuttburg Mosque in Sweden and proprietor of the Gunjur Radio Jannehkoto FM, commended Kombo Sillah Association (KSA) for inviting him as the guest speaker of the occasion.
KSA had been contributing "immensely" to many development projects, he said, calling on the association to continue giving more helping hand to development projects.
He called for unity and understanding among them in their endeavours, to realise their dreams and aspirations.
For his part, the President of Kombo Sillah Association, Lamin Manjang, hailed the guest speaker of the occasion, Seedy Ali Janneh, for honouring their invitation.
He said the association was formed in 2000 with the aim and objectives of supporting Gunjurians in the United Kingdom (UK) and Gunjur village.
According to him, the association also sponsors students who produce outstanding results in the Gambia Upper Basic School Leaving certificate examination. He added that the association would give more sponsorship package to many students in Gunjur in the near future.
