Kombo East District tourney roundup

The annual Kombo East District football tournament organised by Kombo East District Sports Committee has continued to produce exciting encounters at the weekend.

Basori beat Giborokota 1-0 in their group B fixtures to maintain their superb run of form in the tournament played at the Pirang Football Field Sunday.

Pirang drew 2-2 with Talokoto in group C at the Kuloro Football Field, while Kuloro thumped Faraba Sutu 2-0 in group B at the Faraba Banta football field on the same day.

Tungina thumped Duwasu 2-0, Faraba Bantang defeated Faraba Kairaba 1-0, Kuloro drew 0-0 with Giborokoto, Basori beat Faraba Sutu 1-0, Bonto drew 0-0 with Mandinaba and Faraba Bantang beat Tungina 1-0.

Faraba Kairaba defeated Duwasu 2-1, Kuloro edge past Basori 1-0, Giborokoto thrashed Fara sutu 3-1, Pirang beat Tubakuta 1-0, Kiborokuta drew 0-0 with Bonto.

Faraba Bantang beat Duwasu 1-0; Tungina drew 0-0 with Faraba Kairaba, while Mandinaba also drew 0-0 with Giboro kuta.

Faraba Kairaba is leading group A with 7 points in three games, followed by Faraba Bantang in 2nd with 6 points, Tungina are 3rd with 4 points, while Duwasu are rooted at the bottom of the table with zero points.

Kuloro are currently topping group B with 7 points, Basori are 2nd with 6 points, Giborokoto are 3rd with 4 points, while Faraba Sutu are languishing at the bottom of the group with zero points.

Pirang are leading group C with 4 points in two games, Talokoto are 2nd with 2 points, while Tubakuta are 3rd position with a single point.

Mandinaba, Bonto and Giboro Kuta are 1st 2nd and 3rd respectively with 2 points each in two games.

Meanwhile, Mandinaba beat Bonto 4-3 in the playoff on Friday, while Giboro Kuta will clash with Bonto in their second playoff game today, Wednesday 24 April 2013, at the Kuloro football field.
