Kerr Mama Out of Upper Niumi Tourney

Defending champions, Kerr Mama, were knocked out of the Upper Nuimi district tournament after failing to secure maximum points to make it through the next round.

They were axed from the championships by potential winners Fass Omar Saho 1-0 over the weekend. 

The defending champions have been constant winners of the championship since its inception. Their absence in this year's finals will mean the Upper Niumi tournament sponsored by Hon Mam Cherno Jallow, will have a new throne.

Kerr Cherno  also lost to Sami  1-0.  Madina Sidia were awarded three points after fellow group mates Mamuda failed to turn up.

Fass Omar Saho has now qualified from group B while group D is represented by Medina Sidia and Bakalar in the quarter finals.

According to Momodou Bah, chairman of Upper Niumi sports Committee, the last group matches will take place this week.

In the final group E matches over the weekend, Niumi Lamin will take on Mbanta on Friday.

Leaders Toubakolong will clash with Sittanunku in Saturday's clash.
