Defending
champions Kartong and Batokunku both smiled in the 2017 Berewuleng Football
Club-sponsored Kombo South district football tournament after their famous
victories over Mamuda and Jambanjelly respectively at the weekend.
Kartong
beat Mamuda 2-1 at the Batokunku Football Field on Saturday to finish top spot
in group A with maximum 6 points in two games after a 1-0 win over Banyaka in
the opening game a fortnight ago.
Mamuda
finished runners-up in group A with 3 points despite their 2-1 loss to
defending champions Kartong at the weekend.
Elsewhere,
Batokunku defeated Jambanjelly 1-0 in the group D fixtures played at the
Sanyang Football Field on Friday.
The
defeat dashed Jambanjelly’s hopes of reaching the quarterfinal after losing to
coastal boys in their group D fixtures at the weekend.
The
Jam-city boys are with 1 point in two outings and Batokunku with 3 points in
one game.
