Kanifing South register first win in basketball tourney

Kanifing South beat Ebo Town United by 31 points to 24 to register their first win in the ongoing Basketball Tournament, organised by Serrekunda West-Sports Association, at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.

The highly-anticipated Basketball encounter which kicked-off on Friday before a capacity crowd at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium was officiated by Moses Njie, a professional Basketball player, assisted by Modou Jobe who were both instrumental in ensuring a successful opening of the tournament.

According to Vice-Chairman of Serrekunda West Basketball Committee, Sang Marie Sambou, the opening match between Kanifing South and Ebo Town United was successfully and keenly contested. He is hopeful of staging a successful Basketball tournament.

"We are lucky to have professional Basketball referee at our disposal today in the name of Moses Njie, whose officiating in the opening match alongside his assistant Modou Njie were the key to today’s success," the Vice-Chairman pointed out during an interview with Pointsport yesterday.

Meanwhile, the fixtures of the Basketball tournament which was initially released by the Serrekunda West Sports

Association has been re-scheduled from Saturdays and Sundays to Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, due to the GFA Division One league fixtures.
