Bolong Youth Development Association in conjunction with the Environmental
Concern Group-Gunjur and Gunjur Village Development Committee recently embarked
on massive relocation of dump sites in Gunjur.
Kambie
Bolong Youth Development Association (KYDA) based in Gunjur was formed to
empower youths within their community, and to engage them in
development-oriented activities like cleansing of the environment,
tree-planting, education and the like.
The association also sensitises youths on
issues affecting their lives through radio talk shows and forums.
The
secretary general of the KYDA, Babucar Camara, said the association has a good
vision and is very committed to attaining their goals, which is to change the
negative attitude of the youths of their community, and to engage them in
development programmes so that they could be empowered.
