Following
the creation of a new Stand out entity under the Gambia Football Federation,
Events Management Committee (EMC), its inaugural meeting was held on Thursday
29th June at the Oasis Compartments in Kololi.
The
GFF President Lamin Kabba Bajo who presided over the meeting first thanked and
congratulated the members for accepting their appointments into the EMC.
“The
creation of this structure emanated from the meeting of the Emergency Executive
Committee with a need to form an adhoc committee to help the Organizing
Committee in the areas of match finals, international matches and other
logistical support to help our events and engagements in a successful manner.”
Mr
Bajo said even though the OC’s composition is of a broad nature, it is however,
constrained with logistical arrangements and ‘thus the need to form this stand
out committee for the key areas in match finals and international competitions.
Committee
chairman Willy Abraham thanked the GFF for the trust and confidence bestowed on
him and his colleagues to be appointed into what he described ‘a family
committee’.
He
said the committee would convene another in house meeting to come up with a
comprehensive proposal which would be submitted to the GFF for action relative
to their TOR.
“We
have to restructure for the betterment of our football. League finals have to
be better organized and our international matches at home should also look
standard”.
Both
General Lang Tombong Tamba and Baa S. Jabbi expressed gratitude to the
leadership of the GFF for entrusting them with such a responsibility and
assured the GFF of their readiness to work in unison with all stakeholders for
the successful staging and conduct of GFF match finals and international
matches and any other assignment extended to them.

told the GFF boss that “bringing the three of us together to work for football,
i can tell you that you will not have any regrets”.
GFF
General Secretary Abass Bah also congratulated the members for their new
assignments and assured them of the Secretariat’s full support at all times.
“I
have no doubt in your abilities and that you will work very well to achieving
the desired objectives,” he said.
The
committee’s first assignment would be the forth coming international friendly
with Guinea Bissau slated for Saturday July 1st with a renewed call for a
massive turnout to cheer up the Gambia Home Based Scorpions at the stadium.
Other
members of the Committee also include Arret Njie Jah, Musa Ceesay, Captain
Bintou Lowe and Oumie Bittaye.
The
maiden meeting was also attended by GFF Finance Director Kemo Ceesay, Referee
Manager Alh Adama Mbye, Protocol Officer Baboucarr Gaye, Competition Officer
Baboucarr Jobe and Media Officer Bakary B Baldeh. Source: Gff.gm
