Kabafita Community Association squad have emerged champions of the Saamasang sponsored 2012 Kombo Central inter-Community Association football tournament after thrashing Bafuloto Community Association team 2-0 in the final game played at the Brikama Box Bar Mini-stadium on Sunday.
The final game was controlled and dominated by Kabafita Community Association team, who created several goal-scoring opportunities in front of the goal mouth of Bafuloto Community Association team.
The Kabafita squad opened the score through prolific striker Fabakary Daffeh in the 25th minute of the game from a superb strike to give his side the lead.
Alagie Saidy extended Kabafita’s lead in the 32nd minute of the game from a stunning strike that eventually proved to be the winner for Kabafita.
Bafuloto fought back for an equalizer but could not break through Kabafita’s formidable defence line, thus the game ended 2-0 in favour of Kabafita Community Association.
As champions of the tourney, Kabafita walked away with a trophy and a cash prize of D5,000, whilst Bafuloto received D3,000 as runners-up.
Dasilameh Community Association team received D1,000 as third place holder after beating Penyem Community Association team 1-0 in the third place play-off.
Fabakary Daffeh was given D500 as leading goal-scorer of the tournament, Buba Jobe of Bafuloto Community Association team received D500 as best player of the tournament, while Penyem Community Association team received D1,000 as the most disciplined team.
