Fatou Jaw Manneh, a US-based Gambian journalist standing trial on charges of sedition and giving false information, will soon know her fate on the criminal case filed by the state against her as Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Kanifing Magistrates Court has set the date for judgement on the case. The date has been set for 18th August, 2008.
The date for judgement was set after the defence counsel, Lamin Jobarteh, told the court that he has adopted the reply he had earlier filed on points of law.
It could be recalled that the accused Fatou Jaw Manneh was first arraigned before Magistrate Buba Jawo some time in March 2007 and charged with sedition and giving false information, charges she denied.
