The race for the 2009 cricket league title is getting tougher among contenders. Last weekend saw another potential winner, Jewel of India, closing the gap and going level on points with former leaders Veterans.
Scoring 217 runs in 35 overs last weekend, Jewel of India strolled past toothless Wallidan, who managed 151 runs in 23.5 overs.
The Wallidan side seems to have a problem winning a single game. The team should work on adjusting or improving to start winning.
With another round to go, the five-team cricket league is still tightly contested by the top flight teams.
As the trend continues, its looks like the GCA 2009 league will be decided after running down to the wire as teams like GPA, Asia XI, Jewel of India and the Veterans could be winners if only they can avoid defeat during the second and third round matches.
The Veterans have continued to maintain their winning form and could be seen as favourites.
