Gambian duo Mustapha Jarjue and Ebrahima I. Sawaneh are playing in the 2012/13 Europa league playoff in Belgium in their respective clubs after both teams made an average finish on the Pro-league table.
The league, which ended recently, has seen Mustapha Jarjue’s Mons finishing 7th on the table with compatriot Ebrahima I. Sawaneh’s side OH Leuven settling on 10.
Securing a spot for Europa league as part of teams from Belgium will be a positive move for both teams.
Mons are pitted in group A. They beat Lierse 2-1 to get three points in two matches after losing 2-1 to Genk in the opening.
They will meet Kortrijk this Saturday.
Sawaneh’s Leven are also second in group B with 3 points setting a weekend date against Mechelen.
Sawaneh has made a good goal scoring record this season after scoring 17 out of the 46 goals scored by his team this season.
He is on joint second with Anderlecht’s Mbokani on names of the highest scorers this season.
