Jambanjelly United on Friday defeated Black & White 1-0 to progress to the 2014 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) third triangular qualifiers in the all-Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
Black & White, who lost to Bombada United 2-1 in the West Coast Region third division qualifiers final last season, dominated the game and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities but squandered all of them.
Jambanjelly United, who were unable to establish and compose themselves in the game, opened the scoring through midfieder Ebrima Gibba alias Kaka in the 29th minutes of the game from an astonishing free kick to give Jam city boys the lead, which eventually proved to be the winner, giving them a place in the GFF third triangular qualifiers.
They will meet teams from Banjul, Kanifing Municipality and the two relegated teams from second division last season, Kamin United and Latrikunda United, and the two teams with highest number of points, which has earned them promotion to the second tier of Gambian football.
