Istanbul, others sail to East Nawetan Proper

Istanbul FC, Hannover FC, Jola Kunda FC, Ebbeh Gi FC have all secured their places in this year’s Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) Nawetan Proper after winning their final games of the qualifiers played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Istanbul FC made it to the Nawetan proper after defeating T.K. Ajax FC by 4-3 on post-match penalty shootout after drawing 1-1 on regulation time.

Lamin Kassama of Istanbul FC made history on the day by scoring three goals.

He opened the score-line for his side in the 23rd minute of the game from a penalty but lately went on to score an own goal in the first minute of the second period to make the game 1-1 resulting in the game proceeding to penalty kicks.

He then finally went on to score again for his side during the penalty shootout to secure a record 3 goals on the night.

Istanbul FC ended the game with 10 men after striker Foday Manneh was sent off after been shown a straight red card for deliberately knocking an opponent on the face in the 53rd minute of the 5pm encounter played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Monday 12 August 2013.

In the 3pm kickoff, of the same day, Hannover FC beat Herr Bi FC by a goal to nil, to also secure their place in the Nawetan proper, thanks to Musa Kuyateh’s 20thminute strike.

Earlier on Sunday 11 August 2013 in the 5pm kickoff, Jola Kunda FC booked their place in the Nawetan proper after overcoming Green Impact FC by 3-1 on penalty kicks after drawing 1-1 on regulation time.

In the 3pm encounter of the same day, Ebbeh Gi FC advanced to the Nawetan proper after beating Loek Holland FC by 4-2 on post-match penalty shootout after a goalless draw at the East Park.
