The Gambia Football Association (GFA) second tier side Interior will rub shoulders with current FA cup champions Gamtel in the 2011-2012 GFA FA cup final after winning their semi final ties on Sunday 1st July 2012.

Interior sealed a place in the final after thrashing fellow second tier side Seaview 2-0 in the semi final game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Seaview made a flying start to the game and created several goal scoring opportunities, but failed to utilize them.

Interior had a poor start, but were able to contain the high-flying Seaview side, who are so far unbeaten this season.

Interior opened the scoresheet through Ebou Sanyang in the 44th minute of the game to give his side the lead.

Ebou Sanyang again doubled Interior’s lead in the 68th minute of the game to dash Seaview’s hopes of coming back to their feet and also complete his brace.

Seaview brought in several fresh legs in order to strengthen their striking force, and fought back for an equalizer, but could not break through Interior’s formidable defence line.

Seaview FC were reduced to ten men in the dying minutes of the game, when skipper Edrissa Badjie was sent off after a second bookable offence and was shown his matching orders.

The defending champions Gamtel progressed to the final after a 2-1 win over Sait Matty, in the other semi final game played at the Banjul KG 5 mini Stadium on the same day.

The date for the final will be announced later.
