The group stage of the Upper Niumi District Tournament is nearing completion with four teams already sailing through to the quarter finals.
SotoKoi, Jurunku, Jays FC and Pakau Saloum are the lucky four that are still in the running.
Jays made it after beating Kayel 2-0 while Pakau Saloum outclassed Pakau Njogu 2-1 in the final group C matches last weekend.
Friday May 15th 2009 will witness another interesting clash between group D members Madina Sidia and Mamuda.
Kerr Cherno, Sami, Fass Omar Saho and defending champions Kerr Mama will square up in the group B encounters.
Kerr Cherno will meet Sami on Saturday while Kerr Mama will take Fass Omar Saho in a must-win affair on Sunday.
According to Momodou Bah, Chairperson, Upper Nuimi Sports Committee, only four quarter final spots are remaining and a battle awaits the remaining teams to qualify for the next stage.
The district tournament, meant to develop sports at grassroots, is staged under the patronage of Honourable Mam Cherno Jallow, National Assembly Member for Upper Niumi.
