The
interparty meeting involving all political parties in the country that was
scheduled to take place yesterday at the Kairaba Beach Hotel was cancelled.
No
official reason has so far been advanced for cancelling the meeting, which was
expected to be attended by incumbent President Yahya Jammeh and leaders of the
other political parties.
Activities
billed for the meeting included a statement to have been delivered by the IEC,
introduction of the Inter-Party Committee (IPC) members, “exchange of
handshakes” and taking of group photographs of party leaders and IPC members.
