Serrekunda East will battle it out with Western Region side Nema United in the Week Thirteen fixtures of the Gambia Football Association (GFA) National Division One League championship today Thursday 20th May 2010.
Serrekunda East are 3rd position in the league table with 18 points from twelve games and they will be hoping to bounce back following their disappointing 1-0 defeat in the hands of Western Region boys Lamin FC over the weekend, while their opponents Nema United occupied 7th position in the league standings with 13 points from twelve games.
Lamin FC, who will take on Young Africans at the Brikama Mini-stadium, are 2nd position in the league standings with 19 points from twelve games. They will be praying for a win in order to choose the gap on the leaders Africell.
Young Africans are 5th position in the league table with 17 points from twelve games and they will also be hoping that a victory comes their way in order to keep their hopes of gaining promotion to the premier tier next season alive.
Elsewhere, Banjul United will meet Tallinding United in the other fixtures at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium. Banjul United are currently sitting in 4th position with 17 points from twelve games, while Tallinding United are occupying the 6th position in the league standings with 15 points from twelve games.
At the time of going to press Serrekunda United are taking on Latrikunda United at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda, while the current league leaders Africell are locking horns with relegation threatened Flamemins at Brikama Mini-stadium.
The Bakau outfit will also be looking forward to recover from their disappointing and controversial 2-1 defeat over the weekend, as they looked set to bounce back this time around in their quest to regain their place at the summit of the league table.
