Hypnotic movies launches debut movie

Aug 19, 2011, 1:59 PM

The name hypnotic is new to Gambians; it’s a movie production group that has trained over sixty Gambians and about forty non-Gambians for the past four months now.

“We are registered with the Gambia National Centre for Arts and Culture,” movie director Kelvin Blessman told Entertainment yesterday.

“The result of our hard work is why we members of Hypnotic Movies in The Gambia are making a loud statement by releasing our debut movie here in The Gambia,” he added.

The Gambian community is a market force to reckon with, Charles Agbaola-Andy, producer of the movie, said. “As members of the movie, we join others that are flying high the Gambian flag and image positively in the movie industry.”

Andy went on: “We have in mind to create job opportunity for young Gambians and instill in them a skill that can be used both in The Gambia and abroad in order to promote The Gambia and her rich cultural heritage. For we know that ‘the beauty of the people is the language they speak and their cultural heritage’.”

The launching of the movie is scheduled for 11 September 2011 at the prestigious Kairaba Beach Hotel in Senegambia.

“The audition for our next movie is coming up on the 3rd September, after the Ramadan,” Kelvin Blessman, said, adding: “Those who are interested in joining us can contact us on the following numbers: +220 7740960, 7062647, and 779 5513.”
