Human rights activist charged

Edwin Nebolisa Nwakaeme, Director of Programmes of the Africa in Democracy and Good Governance (ADG) a Non-Governmental Organisation has been arrested and charged, it was confirmed to this paper.

According to police PRO Superintendent Sulayman Secka, Mr. Nwakaeme is already charged with giving false information.

Mr. Nwakaeme was reportedly arrested and detained since Monday 1st March 2010 at the police headquarters in Banjul.
