House breaker docked

One Lamin Keita was recently arraigned before Magistrate Abeke of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with house-breaking and stealing.

According to the charge sheet on count one, on 2nd September 2011 at Lamin village in the Kombo North in the West Coast Region, the accused, Lamin Keita, broke into the house of one Sanna Jatta with intent to commit a felony.

The particulars of offence on count two read that on the same date and month, Keita stole the following: double SIM card mobile phone marked Nokia valued at D1,800, one towel valued at D150 and cash amount of D1,000, being the properties of one Amadou Nyang and Sanna Jatta.

Keita pleaded guilty to the charges, and the case was adjourned to 28 September 2011, for judgment.

In a related development, one Buba Gaye was also recently arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court, charged with stealing, house-breaking and stealing.

The charge sheet on count one stated that, on 23 August 2011 at New Yundum village in the Kombo North district of the West Coast Region, the accused person, Buba Gaye, broke into the house of one Bakebba Jammeh with intent to commit a felony.

The particulars of offence on count two, indicated that on the same date and place Gaye stole a gas bottle of 6 kilos valued at D900, the property of the said Bakebba Jammeh.

According to the charge sheet on count three, on 20 July 2011 at New Yundum village in the Kombo North district of the West Coast Region, the accused, Buba Gaye, stole cash of D6, 000 from the said Bakebba Jammeh.

Meanwhile, the accused, Buba Gaye, pleaded guilty to count one and two, but denied count three.

He was then granted bail on count three for D20, 000.

The case was then adjourned to 28 September 2011.
