The Brufut Marathon Association (BMA) is pleased to inform the general public that Mrs Hoja Secka, the Gambian best female long distance runner, has received confirmation to participate in the annual Luton Marathon in UK set for 18th November 2012.
Her Participation, according to Ba S. Jabbi chairman of BMA, was made possible though Martin Mayers in UK who facilitated her registration process.
Mrs Secka won the first half marathon organized by the Brufut Marathon Association last year and awarded free return air ticket to any country in Europe by Brussels Airline Company.
Mrs Secka would be fully funded by Brussels Airline to travel to UK and return. The successful participation of Mrs Secka at the annual Luton Marathon would be great morale boost for the Gambian female soldier and the Gambia Armed Forces in general.
Brufut Marathon Association expressed its profound gratitude to Mrs Secka for a job well done.
“We congratulate all the participants of the 17th annual Brufut Marathon. Our sincere appreciation goes to Brussels Airline general manager who also completed the half marathon in grand style, not forgetting our dear partners Friends of The Gambia Association, World Food Program (WFP), and Sheraton Five-Star Hotel. The general public is invited to participate to the 18th annual Brufut Marathon slated Saturday 8th December 2012. For further enquires on sponsorship and participation please contact us as soon as possible,” Mr Jabbi stated.
