The Special Criminal Court in Banjul is today expected to rule on the appeal case filed by lawyer L.K. Mboge, who was recently convicted and sentenced to two years in prison with hard labour by the lower court in Banjul.

Mboge was convicted and sentenced by the lower court in Banjul on charges of false swearing and making false document, among others.

Dissatisfied with the lower court’s decision, Mboge filed an appeal at the high court, challenging the decision of the lower court.

His defence argued that the sentence was excessive, and urged the appeal court to impose a fine on the appellant.

However, the state respondent argued that they are supporting the sentencing of the lower court.
