Half of the invited Gambian footballers playing abroad arrived yesterday for the Ivory Coast encounter in Banjul on Saturday.
Sixteen players abroad were officially called by coach Luciano Mancini for the second leg of the Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifiers, set for Saturday at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
The Scorpions are at the bottom of their group after just managing a single draw against Morocco and registering defeats to Tanzania and Ivory Coast.
The Scorpions will play away to Morocco on 15 June 2013.
The footballers invited from abroad, Pointsport has learnt, will be blended with selected local-based footballers who were training with the national team coach earlier.
Ebrima Sohna, Omar Colley, Demba Savage and Abdoulie Mansally, who arrived yesterday afternoon, are camped at the Seaview Hotel.
Earlier on Monday, Lamin Samateh, Mustapha Jarju and Momodou Ceesay also flew in to face the battle with Africa’s current leading national side.
Other invitees are Sanna Nyassi, Ali Sowe, Saloum Faal, Macoumba Kandji, Momodou F. Danso, Pa Modou Jagne, Ebrima Sawaneh, Pa Dembo Touray and Mustapha Carayol.
