GVBA Volleyball Referee Course Underway

A five day volleyball course for volleyball referees is underway at the Independence Stadium in Bakau .The course drew participants from various schools across the country.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the president of the Gambia Volleyball Association, Mr. Musa Cassa Taal said, "The course has been organized to improve referees and also to enhance volleyball in the country." He said that "the course is timely for the forthcoming national event, Nayconf, to be hosted by NBR." He further stated that the course instructors are Solomon Bekele from Ethiopia and that" the course is organized for The Gambia to have international volleyball referees and also build capacity for volleyball referees in the country. This is important to equip participants with skills in modern refereeing and the course is funded by the international volleyball federation (FVB). The opening ceremony was witnessed by NSC and GNOC officials, and other dignitaries.
