Gunjur United, under the guidance of head coach Bubacarr Kakai Bojang and his assistant Lamin Babun Fatty aka Anol, have embarked on massive training exercise to prepare the team physically and morally for the 2014 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) third division triangular qualifiers against West Coast Regional third division league champions Jambanjelly United, teams from Kanifing Municipality, Banjul and the relegated teams from second division.
Gunjur United were demoted to the third tier in the 2011-2012 season following their woeful performance in the second tier and will be fighting tooth and nail to win their games in the third division triangular qualifiers to fancy their chances of regaining promotion to the country’s second tier.
The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) third division triangular qualifiers is set to commence later this year and the two teams with the highest number of points will gain promotion to the country’s second tier next season.
It would be recalled that Gunjur United finished runners-up in the 2014 West Coast Regional third division league after snatching 18 points in ten outings three points behind league champions Jambanjelly United, who have secured 21 points in ten games.
