Gunjur and Sanyang are through to the semi-final of the Kombo South District Football Tournament after winning their quarterfinal matches at the weekend.
Gunjur progressed to the semi-final after thrashing Banyaka 2-0 in a well-contested third quarter final game played at the Sanyang playground on Saturday.
Gunjur opened the scoring through winger Bakary Daffeh, alias Kanu, in the 29th minute of the game from a close range strike to give his side the lead before Dodou Saine sealed the victory in the 69th minute.
Sanyang also booked their ticket to the semi-final after beating Tanji on the same score-line at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field on Sunday.
Sadibou Bojang put Sanyang in front after 13th minutes from Kebba Sanyang’s cross.
That goal gave Sanyang an early lead but another fine effort by Baboucarr Suso sent Sanyang into the semi-final to set up a semifinal clash with Gunjur.
Sifoe will meet Tujereng in the other semi-final whose date is yet to be disclosed.
