The President of Marlborough Brandt Group (MBG) in the United Kingdom (UK), Dr. Nick Morris has said that the excellent relationship that exists between the community of Marlborough in United Kingdom (UK) and the people of Gunjur in The Gambia will move from strengthen to strengthen for the benefit of the two communities.
Dr. Nick Morris made this remark in an interview with this reporter during his visit to Gunjur.
He expressed their readiness to strengthen the links for the mutual benefit of the two people.
According to him, the link between the two communities started far back in 1982, by the then Gambia High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), Abdoulie Bojang and others.
He revealed that Marlborough Brandt Group do send young talented students from the UK to Gunjur to teach children at the Gunjur Upper Basic School, adding that they would continue to send more young students to assist students in schools in the coastal village.
He further revealed that Marlborough Brandt Group has built five-classroom block at Gunjur Lower Basic School, which he added, was recently renovated by students from the UK. He stated that the Alkalo and Nyansimbas' visit to Marlborough last year boosted the relationship between the two communities. He commended the people of Gunjur for their hospitality during his stay there.
It is worth saying that Gunjur and many Gunjurians have benefited from Marlborough Brandt Group since its inception in 1982.
