The 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation domestic division one league champions Gambia Ports Authority on Monday resumed intensive training for their crucial 2017 CAF Champions league return leg tie with Sewe Sport of Ivory Coast in Abidjan, in a fortnight’s time.
The
Gambian champions beat Ivorian vice-champions 1-0 in the first leg clash played
at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Sunday.
The
ferry boys will use the next two weeks to prepare themselves fit enough and
ready for their crunch return leg tie with the Ivorian side.
The
Gambian champions need only a draw to advance to the next round of the
continent’s top-tier football club competition.
The
Ivorian side, on the other hand, will also use the next two weeks to prepare
themselves physically and morally for their crunch CAF Champions league return
leg fixtures against Gambian champions in Abidjan, in a fortnight after losing
the first leg encounter in Banjul at the weekend.
