GPA lash Samger to embrace four points lead in GFF 1st domestic league

Gambia Ports Authority on Sunday beat Samger 2-1 in the week-ten fixtures played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to maintain their four-point lead in the 2015-2016 First-Eco Partners-sponsored Gambia Football Federation’s domestic division one league.

The ferry boys were held to a goalless draw by bottom-place Serrekunda United prior to their Sunday’s clash with Samger.

The GPA settled for nothing but a win against Samger to maintain their lead in the summit hence managed to notch in two goals to grab the maximum points, to revive their lead.

The Academy boys lost to Gambia Armed Forces 1-0 prior to their Sunday’s week-ten fixtures against Gambia Ports Authority.

The academy boys came all out to recover against the ferry boys in order to increase and revive their league hopes but couldn’t grab the vital three points.

Elsewhere, Real De Banjul beat Hawks 1-0 at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium on the same day to fancy their league title ambitions alive.

Brikama United beat Banjul United 1-0 at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium to keep pressure on league leaders Gambia Ports Authority.

Elsewhere, Gambia Armed Forces defeated Bakau giant killers Steve Biko on the same score-line in the other week-ten fixtures played at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium on the same day.

GPA are leading the race with 22 points in ten league matches; Brikama United are 2nd with 18 points in ten league matches and Gambia Forces are 3rd with 16 points in ten league matches.

Real De Banjul are 4th with 14 points in ten league matches; Wallidan are 5th with 13 points in nine league matches with a game in hand against second-place from bottom Bombada.

Samger and Steve Biko are 6th and 7th with 12 points each in ten league matches and Gamtel are 8th with 11 points in nine league matches with a game in hand against bottom-place Serrekunda United.

Hawks are 9th with 9 points in ten league matches and Banjul United are 10th with 7 points in ten league matches.

Bombada are second place from bottom with 6 points in nine league matches with a game in hand against Wallidan, while Serrekunda United are rooted at the bottom with 5 points in nine league matches with a game in hand against Gamtel.
