News reaching this paper from the Lower River Region revealed that the governor of the region Momodou Soma Jobe has been removed from his post.
However when contacted, Momodou Soma Jobe who could not confirm or deny the reports has this to say: "I am sorry I cannot grant any interview at the moment. I'm very sorry," he said.
In a related development our sources further revealed that three chiefs were also removed in the said region.
According to reports monitored from GRTS radio last evening, a press release from the Department of State for Local Government and Lands stated that the Secretary of State have approved the termination of the services of three district chiefs. They are Ebrima Kinteh of Jarra West now replaced by Alhagie Yaya Jarjusey. Alhagie Momodou Njie replaces Omar Gibba of Kiang West while Alhagie Cherno Sanneh of Kaing West is replaced by Ansumana Sanneh.
All appointments are with immediate effect stated the release.
